The first show of the fair was signed from the master of couture Stewart Parvin. He presented a collection of 26 pearl-coloured bridal gowns with a classic yet sophisticated line.
This season, his minimalist bridal dresses flow in soft georgette and delicate Chantilly lace. Using the classic bridal fabrics but adding his modern touch, the clean shaped gowns combine silk dupion with sheer silk organza and duchess satin with guipure lace. Crystal beads are parsimoniously used just to enhance a collar or a waist. And the dramatic finale closed the catwalk with a brocade gown scattered with flowers and birds patterns finished with fur cuffs, a stunning new fabrication with a slight Asian feel.
By celebrating minimalism and elegance, Stewart Parvin’s dresses reveal the beauty of shapes in its utter sophisticated simplicity.
