After this weeks meeting between David Cameron and Pakistani Prime Minister Gilani, a No10 document makes reference to Pakistan Fashion Week as part of a growing cultural roadmap of Pakistan culture here in the UK.
Adnan Ansari, creative director and co-founder of organising group Riwayat, commented “It’s a significant step for Pakistan Fashion Week to be included in such a cultural roadmap at such an early stage in our history. After launching just last year we hope to make a major contribution to the understanding of the Europeans of Pakistan’s culture and history.”
In recent weeks Riwayat has been conversing with the DCMS’s Head of Culture as Pakistan develops a special relationship with the UK government. Chris East, co‐founder of Pakistan Fashion Week, stated that “Riwayat welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the growing trade partnership between the UK and Pakistan. We are delighted to be presenting some of the best talent that Pakistan has to offer to the European market.”
