Fashion Icons From 2012

To look ahead into the New Year we also have to revive and reflect on the year that has passed us by. In a year that will surely be marked as one of the most memorable in recent times, 2012 brought some of the most stand out trends, looks, and celebrity endorsement – and in turn inspired a whole world of fashion addicts.

Our selection of fashion icons from 2012 include model and presenter Alexa Chung, supermodel and Victoria Secret angel Miranda Kerr along with the mostly honoured and respected designer of today – Stella McCartney. Kate Bosworth that is still in the highlight of her sense of style and we adore whatever she puts on, making her a real fashion star. Newcomer and little sister Solange Knowles really does know what she’s doing; an inspirational source for the next generation of fashionistas, period. Followed by the supermodel Anja Rubik making the most tedious outfit look glorious and hip.

Happy New Year from the Style Column.

Asos Holiday Collection 2012

The party season is coming round quicker and quicker and with that brings a flurry of wardrobe decisions. Luckily Asos have bagged three stylish girls to give us some sartorial inspiration for their holiday 2012 campaign aptly named ‘#bestnightever’. Representing both the music and modeling worlds we have Azealia Banks, Ellie Goulding and Charlotte Free creating a very influential trio.

Asos have been unveiling a part of the campaign each week finally introducing the last installment of the three with last the formidable, Azealia Banks. Charlotte Free’s part of the campaign came first with the models signature eclectic style with fun aesthetics paving the way with plenty of girly dresses mixed with a selection of gorgeous sequined numbers.

Here is our top pick from Charlotte’s collection:

Ellie Goulding fronted the second part of the collection rocking a wholeheartedly more slick and sophisticated style. Think of high fashion winter prints such as baroque and dandy tile print infused onto silks and satins. Ellie’s part is your perfect go to for taking clothes from office appropriate to Christmas drinks after work.

Here is our top pick from Ellie’s collection:

Finally Ms Banks provides us with the most festive of occasion wear.  As you would expect there is plenty of embellishment throughout, with bejeweled bralets and enough 90’s inspired pieces to boot.

Here is our top pick from Azealia’s collection:
