During Stockholm Fashion Week an exciting announcement was made to the press by Rookies of the Year. Rookie in collaboration with the Swedish Fashion Council are creating a forum which aims to bring forward emerging design talents through several projects, networks and activities. With twelve candidates selected by the Rookies jury, designers are able to show their talent through different events during the year. Out of the twelve candidates, only five were nominated for the award, ‘Rookie of The Year 2012′. On Monday August 13th Rookies Showroom held an exhibition for the twelve candidates in central Stockholm, Sweden, along with a runway show for the press. Among the nominees were Alice Fine, Johanna Pihl, Lobra, Scho Collection and Stutterheim but it was Louise Bramstedt, who is behind the brand Lobra who was announced as the winner of this exciting award.
Lobra is a Swedish fashion company which specialises in shoes and accessories with influences from Rome, Milan, Copenhagen and New York. Lobra ‘s Louise Bramstedt won the prestigious award and her prize involves a scholarship of 20 000 SEK, a challenge prize “Joy of Fashion” designed by Jeanette Karsten along with a cheque of 10 000 SEK for printing lookbooks, and a retail space in two selected stores in Stockholm, Sweden. The jury judged the designer’s fashion degree, design and product quality, business idea and their creative expression as well as the personality behind the brand. Lobra with her “stylish products with an exclusive touch”, convinced the jury that Lobra should take the lead within the shoe and accessories field.
The exhibition showed, among many other influential designers and garments, recycled clothing by guest designer Restructional Clothing, a power suit for the modern women by SCHO Collection and modernised raincoats from Stutterheim.

Under Stockholm Fashion Week tillkännagavs årets Rookie vid en pressvisning den 13 augusti. Rookies i samarbete med Svenska Moderådet är ett forum med syfte att stötta och hjälpa nya modetalanger in i modemarknaden genom olika projekt, nätverk samt aktiviteter. Med tolv kandidater utvalda av Rookies jury får de möjligheten att synas i olika sammanhang under ett år. Utav de tolv kandidaterna utses endast fem inför nomineringen till ”Årets Rookie 2012”. Den 13 augusti höll Rookies Showroom en utställning för alla de tolv kandidaterna följt av en modevisning. Bland de nominerade till Årets Rookie var Alice Fine, Johanna Pihl, Lobra, Scho Collection och Stutterheim där designer bakom modeföretaget Lobra Louise Bramstedt kammade hem priset som Årets Rookie 2012.
Lobra är ett svenskt modeföretag från Kalmar specialiserad inom skor och accessoarer. Med influenser ifrån Rom, Milano, Köpenhamn samt New York är Lobra’s Louise Bramstedt, vinnare av Årets Rookie 2012. Med juryns bedömning av modegrad, design och produktkvalitet, affärsidé och kreativa uttryck följt av personligheten bakom market utsågs Lobra till vinnare av Årets Rookie 2012. Med motivationen ”stilfulla produkter med en exklusiv känsla” är juryn övertygad om att Lobra tar täten inom modebranschen’s sko och accessoar marknad. Därmed tillägnandes priset Årets Rookie 2012 Louise Bramstedt’s märke Lobra. Priset Årets Rookie 2012 inkluderade ett stipendium på 20 000 svenska kronor, vandringspriset “Joy of Fashion” designad av Jeanette Karsten tillsammans med en check på 10 000 kronor för tryck av lookbook samt en försäljningsyta i två utvalda butiker i Stockholm, Sverige.
Utställningen visade bland många andra inflytelserika designers, återvunna kläder av gäst designer Restructional Clothing, power suits för moderna kvinnor av SCHO Collection samt moderniserade regnrockar från Stutterheim.
