During our interaction with Ammar Belal, he mentioned his apprehensions of coming to show his creations in London to audiences who are mainly hunting for good Pakistani bridal wear. Maybe this was the reason we were shown a collection which seemed a little scattered, but was highly entertaining nonetheless. He kicked off with a few pieces from his highly popular Disco Inferno collection, taking its inspirations from the 70’s and the likes of John Travolta, which was followed by men’s sherwani’s, consisting mainly of a black and white colour palette. The highlight for us definitely was when Deepak Perwani walked the ramp, which goes onto show that camaraderie and friendship does exist in the fashion world. Now, if only our female designers would follow suit!
