Shoe designer Jimmy Choo is set it collaborate with the contemporary artist Rob Pruitt to create a capsule cruise collection for the coming spring-summer 2013. Pruitt made a name for himself in the late Eighties thanks to his bright and colourful pop art-influenced work.
Creatives directors of the jimmy Choo brand feel that they have recognised something very similar in the artist and designers bright and playful style and see a lot of potential in the two collaborating. “We were captivated by Pruitt’s energy, his computer screen use of colour and the festive exuberance of his prints and materials; there were elements of his work that reminded us in subtle ways of the Jimmy Choo iconography” Creative directors of Jimmy Choo, Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway have said “We sensed that Rob’s twist on Jimmy Choo glamour would yield something very collectable and uniquely beautiful.”

This is the latest of many collaborations Jimmy Choo has made with creative individuals. Previous contributors to collections have included Nan Goldin, Marilyn Minter and Richard Phillips.
The collection is to comprise of not only shoes but also handbags and small leather accessories that all reference Pruitt’s distinctive style. Expect to see this latest exciting collection hitting boutiques and online in November later this year – be sure to note the date in your diary!
