Day Two of the Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 was greeted with excitement as Priyadarshini Rao took to the runway. TRESemme presented her collection entitled ‘Chair-Worthy collection’ which was a show featuring seven hairdos by Dharmesh (Dodo) Hingorani, who worked with Priyadarshini’s fashion to create new looks.
The stage was set up with six giant mirrors dramatically suspended at an angle from the ceiling, while the show opened with Avantika Akerkar as she recited the Chair-worthy manifesto by Mahda Del Valle which explained the benefits of having a fabulous hair day. The looks were not for the conservative, with vibrant colours, sheer chiffons and embroidery. The textile work was equally as beautiful as the designs themselves with 3D floral appliqués, Indian motifs and innovative fabric options teamed with elaborate hair, held the audience’s rapt attention.
For the final look of the evening, Priyadarshini brought in bits of ecru and gold for layered shapes and an abundance of sheen for fluid pants, blouses and flowing tops. Any show that is presented by a hair brand is guaranteed to be thrilling and this show was no exception as it offered viewers an inspiring and exciting level of creativity.
