On the first day of Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 in Mumbai, the public saw the runway light up with Mexican and aboriginal inspired prints from Pia Pauro’s latest collection.

The “Espiritu de Mexico” or “Mexican Spirit” collection offered the perfect wardrobe to enjoy the hot tropical summer months of the years by the sea side, with a vibrant and colourful collection full of jungle dresses, sexy swim wear, shorts, breezy sundresses and cool kaftans.

Pia set the mood of the show with a white embroidered shrug, which gave away to panelled full dresses as well as matching beach bags, clutches and the never to be forgotten, sexy stilettos.  Evening wear was empowered by glamorous gowns and miniskirts encrusted in the Mexican way with beads and gold embroidery.

The male collection continued to present a relaxed and playful style with multi-toned shorts and t-shirts, making it impossible for you not to wish to get the next flight to a tropical paradise and enjoy both beauties, Pia’s Pauro collection and the ocean breeze.

The Lakmé Fashion Week, LFW, organised by No.1 cosmetics and beauty services brand in India and IMG Reliance, has as motto to “Redefine the future of fashion and Integrate India into the global fashion world”. The division responsible for the production of some of the leading fashion events around the globe represents various international and local industries, giving fashion the freedom and exposure that such breathtaking collections deserve and facilitating a gateway to the fashion world – from creation to consumer.
