Kaabia & Sasha Grewal

Kaabia and Sasha Grewal presented an impressive, edgy and outstanding look at the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012.

“Leone d’oro” or Gold Lion was inspired by African’s kings of the jungle with dazzling ornaments, lion sculptures, leopard prints and geometric forms. Chic, elegant and inspiring are just some of the words that can be used to describe this incredibly beautiful and innovative collection. Spiked necklaces with large rear pendants and cascading chains, lapel necklace and cuffs, tasseled pendants and Peter Pan collars.

A must see was definitely the collar cum belts with long metal placket connecting them and the modern version of the “haat phool”.

 Nitya Arora

The mood was changed completely by Nitya Arora’s glittering jewellery line.

With designs appealing to the modern woman the “Nouveau Gypsy” collection mesmerized the public with gold jewels glittering under the ramp lights and the gems sparkled with breathtaking cuffs, necklaces and earrings. Chokers with mesh pendants and chains, tasseled necklaces, armlets and long multi spiked necklaces turned heads everywhere. The designer’s collection was a simple but beautiful one that women will identify with instantly.

Rohan Arora

Rohan Arora’s “Item” footwear collection inspired by Bollywood, had all the colours and glamour of its inspiration. The shoes were crafted in a variety of materials, shapes and colors such as brocade, satin, silk and hand woven khaki. Floral embroidered wedges, multicoloured fabrics and cute embroidered slip-ons were some of the highlights of Arora’s collection.

Tanya Sharma

Tanya Sharma opted for a classic but stylish collection bringing in a wonderful fusion story for her designs. Having the achkan and tuxedo as inspirations, Sharma combined day to day street wear with traditional ethnic garments, creating a completely unexpected but beautiful look. The main colors were mustard, regal blue, peach and fluorescents which were contrasted with black minis.

For the grand finale the audience was presented with a multi fabric sari with a petal blouse completing the look.
