“Tagram” was the name of this collection. The designers delivered a rainbow of jigsaw pieces that all slotted together nicely to make up an innovative presentation. An array of sharply formfitting tailoring transitioned into more voluminous silhouettes. This collection definitely catered for most trousers needs: ranging from high waisted trousers to long or cropped jodhpurs to flowing samurai pants. These were produced in black and white, brown, blue purple and a refreshing canary yellow. There were quite a few delights showcased within this collection: thread work appliques with fabric and leather added a futuristic element. A coat with sheer tulle sleeves and a zippered front was proved positively breath taking. The menswear featured in the collection didn´t disappoint either, as the Dutta offered jackets with leather appliques, trims and embroidery on shoulders. Contrasting lapels added a subtle yet delightful edge. Painted Kutras in an array of colours brought the Indian heritage into 2012.

Shyamal and Bhumika Shodhan 

Shyamal and Bhumika`s collection surely made any future brides heart skip a beat with longing. This coordinated men´s and bridal outfits shone with crystal embellishments. Appropriately named “Maharaja”, the designers rejuvenated these vintage designs with silhouettes reminiscent of the Mughal era. Floor length panelled Kurdas and multi-fabric saris were enchanting. These sumptuous garments were enriched by using velvet, net brocade and georgette. A rich colour palette of luxurious reds, jade, maroon, teal and purple were used. Menswear followed suit on this glamorous road. Opulence sprang to mind when seeing the readily embellished traditional Indian garments like Chogas, Kurtas and a Jodpuri jacket. It was a template wardrobe for any fairy-tale wedding.
